The vocational specialist works as part of the case management team offering individualized services. Our team concept stresses the important role vocational services can play in a person’s recovery. Continued vocational support for the person is provided as long as the person desires.

People interested in employment are provided with information on evidence based vocational services. Evidence based, best practice vocational models, are proven contributors to recovery. A person’s vocational path is individually created, and the person decides who will be involved with development. In addition to the case management team, other professional supports, friends and relatives are often involved. Our hope is that vocational assistance can help the person make an informed decision, and aid in the development of a flexible, recovery based, path.

The vocational program at Onondaga Case Management can provide direct services, act as a linkage referring people to other service providers, or operate in collaboration with other providers to help people achieve their goals.
